The Rio Grande National Forest admitted that their authorization of livestock grazing was significantly impacting remnant populations of the Rio Grande Cutthroat trout which has been found to be warranted for listing under the Endangered Species Act. In fact the Forest Service clearly documented significant declines in all but one population and a complete loss of one population over a seven year period, yet it chose to continue the status quo so as to not inconvenience the permittees. WWP appealed and the Forest Service rejected our appeal, finding such behavior to be quite alright by them. This is a likely candidate for judicial review.
