After years of data collection by Dr. John Carter, Dr. Jim Catlin and many others, BLM’s final decision for this allotment was challenged in court. The hearing has required well over two months of testimony and exceeds 10,000 pages of transcripts and it still has 2-3 weeks more testimony to go. The case challenges most of BLM’s monitoring methods used nation-wide as well as the common supposition that more water developments, pipelines and fences improves degraded habitat conditions.
