Dominant Plant Community Type: Shrub-Grass/Shrub-Juniper
Impacts: Cumulative impacts from livestock utilization have moderately impacted the spring and riparian habitat at this location. Utilization impacts have led to some loss of the riparian structure and understory. Recent impacts to the area in general have been light, although past utilization has led to down-cutting and lowering of the water table and loss of riparian regeneration in several locations. Trampling has disrupted the small spring flow in the bottom of the channel.
Recommendations: The uplands of this allotment and its vegetation in general have been much less impacted than that of adjoining allotments to the south and east. Season of use and duration should be monitored or adjusted to avoid additional impacts to this small spring site.
