WWP protested the BLM’s decision on this group of 4 allotments because the RMP required much of the area to be managed for the benefit of sage grouse, but the decision would have continued to degrade sage grouse habitat. The decision was based on a Categorical Exclusion from NEPA review despite the fact that sage grouse were determined to be warranted for listed under the Endangered Species Act. Again, the BLM withdrew the decision instead of trying to defend it in court.
