Western Watersheds Project (WWP), a Hailey, Idaho based non-profit conservation group with offices in five states and a 15 person staff, seeks an experienced conservationist to act as Deputy Executive Director for the group.

This full-time job entails shared oversight with WWP’s executive director of all public land programs of Western Watersheds Project in nine western states. The work includes working directly with WWP’s executive director and with WWP’s legal and science teams to address livestock management, water quality and the general ecological health of public lands across the western United States.

Job qualifications include a Bachelor or higher degree in the natural sciences, law or public policy and administration, strong job experience (five years preferred) in non-profit conservation work on public policy issues regarding the management of western public lands including fundraising experience and a commitment to restore our public lands.

Additional needed qualifications include knowledge of Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management policies along with strong writing, speaking and computer based presentation skills. The job is based in Hailey, Idaho in a non-smoking office and includes a salary of $45,000-$55,000 depending on experience, excellent work time flexibility, three weeks paid vacation and other benefits.
